Equine Assisted Psychotherapy/Equine Therapy

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) is a proven, effective experiential therapy counseling model for many common mental health challenges. Experiential learning is based on the neuroscience that humans learn best by doing. Interaction with horses during sessions is the catalyst for healing. Participants immerse themselves in learning and problem solving that directly improves daily life and relationship with themselves and others. 

Who can Benefit?

EAP is offered to both Adults and Youth. Sessions are for individuals, families, couples and groups.

What types of Challenges can be addressed?

Equine Therapy addresses common mental health concerns including; Anxiety, Depression, PTSD, OCD, Social Disorders, Grief, Relational challenges, Emotional Regulation, Self Esteem and other common mental health challenges can gain positive outcomes for participants.

Where does EAP take place?

Arise Ranch is a 50 acre facility located in Foristell, MO. Sessions take place in a variety of outdoor settings including arena , pasture, trails and other spaces where the full experience of being in the horses habitat promotes learning.

Who will be facilitating?

Equine Assisted Psychotherapy is a team approach. Sessions are facilitated by a licensed Mental Health Professional, an Equine Specialist, a selection of Therapy Horses and the Participants. All are equal partners in this therapy.
